On Tuesday, April 28th, the McClancy Crusaders volunteered at an in-school community service event, hosted by the International Non-profit hunger relief organization, “Rise Against Hunger.” Representatives from the organization visited our campus after school hours and taught students how to pack and distribute food, with the intention of the meals to be shipped off to schools in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, to ensure that underprivileged children are getting fed properly in their educational journey.
Here at McClancy, students are both taught and encouraged to give back in whatever way they can, and we do our best to provide these direct opportunities for eager students to do so. From this experience, our students learned about hardships abroad, and were given the opportunity to serve those in need in a hands-on workshop through our school. The Crusaders made nearly 10,000 meals to ship off, and look forward to working the event again next year!
We would like to thank all the representatives of the organization for assisting us and providing us the opportunity to give back, and as well Ms. Sciame-Doddado for planning the event. Below is the link to the non-profit’s website, please feel free to volunteer with them independently and check out the great things they are doing!
