On February 3rd, 2023, the Monsignor McClancy freshman boys took on St. Edmunds. Fans in the bleachers were encouraged to wear black as it was the team’s first ever blackout game! The first quarter was filled with great defense from both sides as McClancy led 14-10. After this, it was all Crusaders. The boys dominated the 2nd quarter as they went on an impressive 19-0 run with points coming from a variety of players to lead 36-20 at halftime. Joel Barnaby led the Crusaders in scoring (10 points) during the first half. McClancy dominated the 3rd and 4th quarters to win in a dominant 71-43 fashion. They were led by a dazzling performance from Joel, Kujo Radoncic (13 points), and Caleb Ourigou (8 points, 2 blocks). Aidan Fontanez (8 points), Anthony Brut (8 points), and Justin Williams (6 points) also played big roles in the victory. It was another excellent game to watch from the freshmen and we can’t wait to watch their next game!
