On Saturday April 25th, 2026 shots rang out during the white house correspondents dinner as an active shooter attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump along with members of his administration. The Correspondents Dinner is an annual high profile event in which journalists, politicians, celebrities, as well as the president and his cabinet gather to celebrate the first amendment and free press. During the dinner, shots were fired by Cole Tomas Allen in an attempt to assassinate President Trump as well as members of his administration such as Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of state Marco Rubio and FBI director Kash Patel. Allen has been taken into custody and charged for his attempted assasination. The President was rushed out of the dining hall and is now healthy and doing well.
