The Seattle Seahawks won the 2026 Super Bowl Championship on Sunday, dominating the New England Patriots with a final score of 29-13 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The Seahawks’ defense locked in early and never let up, earning Seattle its second Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Seattle took control of the game from the beginning, holding New England to no scores for much of the game while scoring points with field goals and strong defensive stops. The Seahawks’ defense recorded many sacks and forced turnovers that killed the Patriots’ chances to win.
Running back Kenneth Walker III was named Super Bowl MVP, becoming the first running back to earn the award since 1998. Walker rushed for 135 yards and added receiving yards, helping Seattle maintain momentum and control of the game on the ground, which eventually led to the win.
Kicker Jason Myers also had quite a night, setting a Super Bowl record with five successful field goals, contributing a large part of Seattle’s point total. Former New York Jets Quarterback Sam Darnold threw a touchdown pass and managed the game effectively, helping Seattle build and sustain its lead. Jets fans are happy all around. He finally got the ring he deserved.
The Seahawks defense was dominant from the first snap, sacking Patriots quarterback Drake Maye multiple times and stopping New England’s offense for most of the game. New England finally scored late in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to start a comeback.
The Seahawks celebrated their victory after the game. The win also served as revenge for Seattle, since they lost to the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX over a decade earlier, creating the famous statement “The Seahawks should’ve ran the ball.”
With their second Lombardi Trophy won, the Seattle Seahawks now enter the offseason as one of the NFL’s superior teams. Fans and analysts will be watching to see how both Seattle and New England adjust, hit the free agency, and re-sign players for the next NFL season.
