The annual McClancy Open House took place on October 11, 2025, and emded up being a huge success! It was a great opportunity for students from the classes of 2030 and 2031 to check out all the great courses at McClancy! The turnout was strong, with many families coming to see what our school has to offer.
Throughout the open house, teachers walked around giving tours to students and parents interested in the school. They were able to learn about the courses offered at the school, gain an overall idea of what the school looks like, and develop an understanding about what the school has t0 offer academically. At the end of the tours, parents and students were then invited to the gymnasium to get familiar with the different clubs and sports the school offers.
This year’s open house featured a new setup from the E-Sport team, which became one of the biggest attractions at the event. Gaming computers were set up where students were able to try out playing different games such as Rocket League. Overall, this addition to the open house provided a unique experience for incoming students since McClancy is one of the few schools that offers an E-Sports team.
Lastly, in our labs, students volunteered to help give demonstrations on things learned in science classes. Particularly, in the physics lab, parents and incoming students were able to see demonstrations of some physics concepts. They learned that if an object is shot straight and another is dropped, they will hit the ground at the same time. The open house provided an opportunity for individuals to not only learn about the school but also to experience hands-on classroom activity.
The open house was largely successful because of the dedication the students and faculty put into it. It highlighted the school’s emphasis on education, sports, and clubs and allowed incoming students to get to know what our school is all about!
