On March 27, 2025, the senior students of McClancy took on the faculty and staff in a highly anticipated Spirit Week basketball game! The gym was packed with students and teachers struggling to find seats to see the game unfold.
The seniors started strong by winning the tipoff, but they struggled to find their rhythm early, giving the faculty the lead. The faculty also scored the first points of the game. Later on, the faculty got a big lead of 26-12 advantage, but the seniors fought back, bringing the score to 40-33 after halftime.
With 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, the faculty led 45-38, but the seniors began a comeback. With just 4:30 minutes remaining, they got the lead for the first time at 52-50. The atmosphere was electric as both teams went head to head. But, the faculty kept their composure and got the lead in the last moments to secure a 61-54 victory.
Some faculty players who played were Phys. Ed teacher Mr. Sylvester, Global teacher Mr. Kelly, English teacher Ms. Colon, Health teacher Mr. Colombi, Biology teacher Mr. Sanabria, and Earth Science teacher Mr. Pagano. Even Mr. Neuwiller came out of retirement to play in the game. It was a hard-fought game, both teams had a very good and exciting performance during this Spirit Week finale.
