Veteran’s Day is a day to commemorate all the soldiers of the United States of America. It is celebrated on November 11th. Many people only know the basics of Veterans day, but not all people take the time to learn and appreciate the history of this special day.
Military.com states, “Veterans Day, which was once known as Armistice Day, was originally set as a U.S. legal holiday to honor the end of World War 1.” This explains the importance of Veterans Day and the reason why we celebrate it, to honor our veterans and to celebrate the peace in the world after WW1!
Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day in 1938 to celebrate our military throughout all their sacrifices in all the wars they have fought in, instead of just celebrating the soldiers from WW1, but to include all the veterans and military leaders who keep our country safe day in and day out.
