Monopoly Queens edition
We all know the most famous board game of buying and selling and going bankrupt, Monopoly. Since it was originally created in the 1930s(!) as a unique real estate board game, it has changed over the years to become the money-earning and property trading game everybody loves (or hates) today. It’s played by over 1 billion people in 114 countries, so the creators of it have had great success with making Monopoly and also expanding on the game. It’s currently owned by the companies Top Trumps USA (not affiliated with the former president) and Hasbro. Over time, there have been many special editions of Monopoly as well that differ from its original location in Atlantic City, NJ, most recently the Queens edition, only introduced a few days ago! After a lot of community input on what it should include some famous Queens locations that are now on it are New Park Pizza, Astoria Park, LaGuardia Airport, Chinatown, and many more.
Currently, it’s priced at around $45 on Amazon, and according to them 700 have been sold in the last month. It is also priced $75 on eBay, so it’s obviously succeeding in popularity! If you want to get one yourself, unfortunately they have already sold out because of “overwhelming demand,” but according to the Top Trumps USA website (where you can buy it) “new orders will be fulfilled starting December 6th 2024”.
