On May 1, the JV baseball boys took on Archbishop Molloy in an afternoon game at McClancy. Molloy started off hot, as they took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning on some timely hits. McClancy had several chances to score through the first 5 innings, but they couldn’t knock any runs in. In the 6th inning, they began to show signs of a comeback when 2 singles and a ground rule double made it a 2-1 game. Jack Sheehan and Sanjay Multani walked to load the bases, but the boys couldn’t capitalize as a fly out ended the inning. Both teams traded zeros for the final inning, as McClancy lost the ballgame 2-1. It was a great pitching performance from both teams, as Crusader pitching struck out over 10 batters and looked dominant apart from the 2nd inning. The outcome didn’t hurt McClancy as they maintained their 2nd place spot in the division standings! Overall, it was a very fun and exciting game to witness, even though the team didn’t come out on top.
