On Sunday, Feb. 11, the yearly Super Bowl took place in Las Vegas and it featured the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the San Francisco 49ers. This was actually a rematch from 2020, when both of these teams faced each other in Super Bowl 54 (the Chiefs won 31-20). The 49ers started out hot as they took a 10-3 lead into halftime, but the Chiefs eventually came back and were winning 13-10 heading into the 4th quarter. The teams traded scores in the 4th, as the Chiefs tied the game with 3 seconds left to send it to overtime (only the 2nd time a Super Bowl went to overtime ever!). San Francisco kicked a field goal to go up 22-19, but the Chiefs stormed down the field and scored a last second touchdown to win the game, 25-22. There were many celebrities at the game, including Taylor Swift, Ice Spice, Shaq, Post Malone, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and many more! Usher sang the halftime show, which has drawn both positive and negative reactions online! I was rooting for the 49ers, so I wasn’t too happy to see how the game ended, but I’m sure there were many Chiefs fans who were very proud of their team! Until next year!
