Have you been thinking about what clubs to join this year? Are you a creative person? Maybe you just like to draw, or even make little doodles. If this sounds like you, then you should consider joining the Art Club!
Mr. Savoca is the teacher in charge of the Art Club, and he encourages anyone who likes to express themselves through art to come to our meetings. Members of our club like to sit with their friends and create whatever art they want. Different materials are available to students, such as paper, markers, pencils, pens, colored pencils, watercolor, paint, and more. Students are encouraged to use whatever materials they like, as long as they use them responsibly and respectfully. Students are also allowed to bring in their own materials if they wish to. When interviewed, Mr. Savoca said one of his goals this year would be to have an art show in the gym to display some of the creations made in the club over the course of the school year. This would most likely take place during the near end of the school year, probably in spring. Amongst this, Mr. Savoca strives to create a comfortable environment where students can express themselves through art, and be confident about their creations.
The club has been running for 7 years, allowing many students to come and have fun creating art after school. The art club meets 2-3 times a month, after dismissal, in the art room. Along with the other members of the art club, we invite you to stop by and let your creativity flow! We hope to see you there.
